1. It comes from the idea that people have a strong need to fit in and have an undeniable need to belong and feel apart of something. So people buy and join brands to fulfill their need to belong to something; to be apart of something bigger than themselves.
2. All of the strategies have something to do with grabbing the attention of the buyers. Each one has something to do with looking, seeming, presenting itself as better than the competition. The ways that they do this vary greatly but the goals are the same which is to catch the attention of the consumer and to keep their attention by appearing or being better than the competition.
3. As to where are we headed. We are headed toward a place where there are no rules for advertising that company's will have unlimited access and power to do what they need to to sell their product. From naked girls selling the product to the promise of drugs with the purchase of a product. All in all it is headed in a bad direction.

Project Opinions
1. The method used was effective to those who were in hearing range and those who heard her messge. The group could have done a better job in the vocal part of their message. They could have had a different catch phrase or used more variety instead of saying the same thing over and over. In general i believe doing activities like these will raise awareness about binge drinking and will helpstudents make more responsible decisions while drinking.
2. The method used by the second group was quite effective to those who would watch it. The only thing that could have made it better is probably more plablisity and advertising the event more so that more people would know about it and would have known about it to choose if they wanted to attend.

Random room brand
Well the random brand name that i put thought int buying that is in my room is the face cleansing product called clean and clear. Five things that come to my mind when you say Clean and Clear is clean, smooth, effective, reliable, and clear (no blemishes.) What has shaped my existing perception of this product is past experiences of its' effectiveness at cleansing and clearing my skin of blemishes. I randomly got some of the product one day used it and was saticified with the results. For the most part what i think is what the people who have submitted to brand tags thinks as well. This is probably becasue that the product is actually reliable and actually accomplishes what it says it will. Basically he product lives up to its name. This is why our answers are similiar

One of my favorite commericals.
This is one of my favorite commercials of all time for several reasons. I will keep it simple though and say that it reminds you of the passion that you yourself have for the sport or hobby you like to do. Though i run track and do not play basketball it still fills me with a sense of pride about the sport i play. What catches my attention is that instinctively i know its a Jordan commercial, the dramatic music, the slow motion creating suspense to see what happens next. I think this commercial does a great job at attracting people to his product and i personally believe that these famous commercials combined with his great talent equal a infamous product. although the commercial does not really show the shoe it still promotes the product very well. This is the case due to the fact that they see the commercial and they see the sign and they already know its a Jordan shoe. This commercial is great to watch but i do not think that i would personally go out and by the shoe because of it. Regardless of that i still think it is a very effective commercial. Due to great quality of the commercial, the quality of the commercial. the fact that Micheal Jordan is in it and that they have some cool moves and memorable moments within the commercial which peak interest in the product.

goals for this semester
Just as my title states this will be a blog about my goals for this semester for the class of Principles of Advertising. Um.......well this is kind of boring and unoriginal but i would like to get an A or at least a B so i can raise my GPA. If i gained a greater appreciation of the subject in the process that would be cool too. I guess that's about it for the most part. I told you it was boring.
